Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Kati Abd al-Sada, Head of the Microbiology Branch, Al-Zahraa College of Medicine - University of Basra, received the Distinguished Patent Award and was honored with a certificate of appreciation by the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Naeem Al-Aboudi. The patent includes (producing a kit to isolate the new Corona virus from the coughs of patients) At the University of Baghdad, the work of the Iraqi Flag Day Festival for the year 2022-2023 began. As Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Katea also won the Science Day Award in 2019 for the best scientific research in health and medical sciences.
On the sidelines of a celebration, the University of Basra received the Distinguished Universities Medal in Iraq, ranked third after the University of Baghdad and Al-Mustansiriya, where the Research and Development Department is located. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the results of distinguished universities based on their international classifications (The Time with all its classifications, QS, and this year the classification of Shanghai) on the Iraqi Flag Day, which was held on Wednesday, 10-4-2023.
