Assistant Professor Dr. Abeer Laila Muhammad, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at Al-Zahra College of Medicine, participated in a workshop on (Evaluating procedures and standards for biosecurity and biological safety in laboratories) in the presence of all members of the Central Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Safety and Security Committee (CBRN) and members of the CBRN Ministerial Committee held in Presidency of the University of Basra

During the workshop, the most important procedures and standards for biosecurity and biosafety in laboratories were presented, the most important of which are the biosafety aspects of managing biological risks through the implementation of biological safety measures in laboratories, as well as the implementation of security measures to control hazardous materials. He also presented the most important programs followed in biological safety and biosecurity in laboratories, as discussed in During the workshop, the mechanism for implementing biological emergency response was discussed.

The workshop emphasized the implementation of the requirements for standards for biological safety and security procedures and the re-visit of the ministerial team in the future, along with reviewing observations on all colleges.
