Al-Haytham Eye Hospital in Baghdad Hosts Arab Board Exams for Ophthalmology Students

Al-Haytham Eye Hospital, affiliated with the Rusafa Health Directorate in Baghdad, hosted the scientific exams for Arab Board students in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Walid Hamid Jassim, the hospital director, confirmed that the exams lasted for three days under the supervision of specialized scientific committees that included distinguished professors from Iraq and abroad. The participation of final-stage Arab Board students from various Arab countries underscores Iraq's ability to host significant scientific events, reinforcing its leading role in strengthening scientific cooperation.

Dr. Jassim explained that the hospital had completed all necessary preparations and created a conducive environment to ensure the success of this important scientific event, which lasted for three consecutive days. He emphasized that the hospital enjoys a reputable scientific and medical standing both locally and internationally, thanks to its qualified human and technical resources that guarantee the transparent conduct of such scientific events. He added that the hospital serves as an educational and training center for both Arab and Iraqi Board students in the field of ophthalmology.

In this context, Dr. Suzanne Abdul Mohsen Al-Qubtan, the head of the Scientific Council for Ophthalmology in Iraq, revealed the participation of Iraqi doctors and a select group of Arab doctors in supervising the exams. About 50 students from various Arab countries participated in these exams to obtain the scientific title in the field of ophthalmology. She noted that the hospital is committed to enhancing training programs to meet pioneering scientific requirements and improve the quality of health services, particularly in ophthalmology.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Samak, a faculty member at Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, also participated in supervising and guiding the participating students. He emphasized the importance of scientific cooperation and the exchange of expertise between medical and academic institutions. Dr. Al-Samak praised the hospital's efforts in organizing this distinguished scientific event, expressing his satisfaction with participating in this important scientific occasion.
