The Head of the Surgery Branch, Professor Dr. Faleh Waheed Hashem, participated in the membership of the student discussion committee (Youssef Zannad Mazyoun) of the Surgical Board in the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialties, which was held in the study hall of the Basra Teaching Hospital.
For his thesis entitled “Retrospective and Prospective Evaluation of the Drug (Densumab) in the Treatment of Benign Bone Tumors”
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the drug (denosumab), a monoclonal antibody, in the non-surgical treatment of benign bone lesions, with a focus on evaluating tumor size, improving symptoms, and its effectiveness across different types of bone lesions.
The study recommended the use of low doses of denosumab as an alternative and effective treatment for surgical intervention to treat various benign tumors that affect the bones.
After the results matched and the study was accepted, the student was granted a doctorate in orthopedic and traumatology surgery with a good grade
