The Al-Zahraa College of Medicine at Basrah University is proud of being one of the Colleges that uses a logical approach to solving the problem in society and considers this as one of its most important priorities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Basrah mobilized all her energies to helping the community during the coronavirus crisis. One of these activities was the production of about 112.000 Viral Transport Media (VTM) which used to cover the requirements of health directorates in Iraq during the shortage of these products. The University team is made up of highly experienced professionals members did voluntary work for more than 6 months to meet the needs of the health directorate in all Iraqi provinces. This activity was gotten an estimate from UN, WHO, Iraqi health directorates, and Iraqi parliament.
