Within the framework of community awareness, Al-Zahraa College of Medicine at Basra University organized a symposium on electronic blackmail
The cultural symposium aimed to raise awareness among the academic segment on ways to prevent and warn against the extortion that has begun to spread among people who have lost true citizenship to practice moral depravity and seek to exploit others for the sake of individual interest subject to bargaining, as well as to emphasize the academic responsibility to advance the educational and security sense of all members of the university institution.
The symposium, which was attended by a group of relevant gentlemen, included Mr. Lieutenant Colonel Wajdi and Lieutenant Colonel Alaa from the Directorate of Information Technologies Basra Governorate, Colonel Rasoul, and the official of the Supreme Authority for Resolving Tribal Conflicts in Basra, Sayyed Jabbar al-Helu. During the symposium, the lecturers discussed methods of preventing falling victim during piracy and crisis applications. Upon the loss of personal equipment and possible security and tribal solutions in the event of blackmail
The symposium recommended the necessity of dealing with people and blackmailing operations to which an individual is exposed, with steadfastness and without fear, by turning to the relevant security authorities and seeking to provide legal evidence that explains the convict away from falling into the deceptions of the blackmailer, whether by threats or publicity, as well as the correct steps in resorting to Security authorities in order to determine the merits of the blackmail operation so that the convict falls into the grip of justice
At the conclusion of the symposium, Mr. Ahmed Badai, responsible for student artistic activities at the college, praised the information and advice that was provided, the aim of which was to stay away and be careful not to fall prey to the hands of weak souls. At the conclusion of the symposium, memorial shields were distributed to the lecturers by Dr. Wamid Al-Qatrani, the director of student affairs. For the efforts exerted by the symposium presenters and the valuable information they provided that affects the life of the individual and society. The symposium was attended by Dr. Ghassan Habib, Head of the Student Activities Department, and Teacher Hussein Ali, Director of the Artistic and Cultural Activities Division in the Student Activities Department.
