Participation of Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, the second session of the Musculoskeletal Aspects of Sickle Cell Disease Conference

Within the framework of continuing to exchange experiences, the Division of Orthopedics and Traumatology/Surgery Branch at the College of Medicine and Zahra Medicine, University of Basra, the Advisory Committee for Orthopedics and Traumatology, the Basra Health Department, and under the sponsorship of Eva Pharma, held the second session of the “Musculoskeletal Aspects of Sickle Cell Disease” conference.

During the second day of the conference, the risk of anesthesia was presented by Dr. Mazen Adnan Abbas, as well as the results of decompression of the femoral head (AVN), which were lectured by Dr. Rafid Al-Adab. The head of the surgery branch, Professor Dr. Faleh Wahid Hashem, also explained the effect of sickle cell disease on the shoulder joint, and Dr. Ali Al-Diwan discussed the deterioration of the condition. The sacroiliac joint in coronary artery disease, among the professors during the conference, diseases, methods of performing surgical operations, and treatment methods due to the importance of these procedures for patients with sickle cell anemia.
