The study aimed to identify “contact points” within the nose and sinuses, which are considered starting points for chronic headaches, such as a deviated septum or excess tissue in the sinuses. The study also confirmed an important relationship between nasal anatomy and headache feeding episodes. The study presented functional rhinoplasty methods to eliminate headache symptoms, which lead to improved nasal air breathing and obstructive sleep apnea, thus reducing headaches in patients.

After discussion, the study was accepted and the student was granted specialization in ear, nose and throat surgery by the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialties.
