Follow-up on OSCE practical clinical examinations at Al-Zahraa College of Medicine

Al-Zahraa College of Medicine at the University of Basrah has conducted a comprehensive follow-up of the clinical examinations for its students. The aim of the examination is to assess the students' level in the practical applications of basic and advanced medical skills and to ensure their readiness to practice medicine in clinical environments.

This year's clinical exams were meticulously organized with great attention to detail to ensure fair and objective evaluation of the students' skills. The examinations included multiple stations covering various fields of medicine, such as clinical examination, case diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Among the measures implemented were stringent health protocols to ensure the safety of students and faculty. These included temperature checks, the use of personal protective equipment, and the disinfection of stations between each student. Additionally, advanced simulation techniques were used, utilizing mannequins and advanced simulators to provide realistic medical scenarios, helping students safely handle critical and complex cases.

A committee of professors and specialized doctors supervised the examinations, providing immediate feedback to the students, which helps them identify their strengths and weaknesses and work on improving them. Students were also given the opportunity to provide feedback on their exam experience, aiding the college in enhancing the educational process in the future.

The Dean of the College of Medicine expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the exams and praised the efforts of the students and faculty members in adhering to academic and health standards. He affirmed that this continuous follow-up of clinical examinations reflects the college's commitment to graduating qualified doctors capable of providing high-quality healthcare to patients.

These exams are an essential part of medical education, as they help prepare students better for practicing medicine in real-life scenarios and ensure they are ready to face complex medical challenges.
