The University of Basra raises the banner of Al-Husseini mourning, marking the beginning of the holy month of Muharram
The University of Basra commemorated the ceremony of raising the blessed Al-Husseini condolence flag coming from the holy city of Karbala, marking the beginning of the ceremonies of the month of Muharram, the month of the martyrdom of the father of the free, Imam Hussein bin Ali and his family and supporters (peace be upon them), in the Bab Al-Zubair college complex, amid a spiritual atmosphere dominated by faith and reverence. In the presence of a delegation from the Hussein shrine, carrying the banner from the land of Abu Al-Ahrar in Holy Karbala, headed by the Advisor to its Secretary-General, Hajj Fadel Oz, as well as academic and scientific figures and associates, who expressed the depth of their belonging to the Prophet’s family, peace be upon them.
The President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, said in a speech he delivered on this occasion: “These rituals must be revived in the best bright way that imitates minds and hearts and keeps pace with the times because the rituals represent messages of truth and peace to humanity and are derived from the authentic Muhammadan Islam that shined with the blood of Imam Hussein and his companions upon them.” Peace be upon you in the battle of truth and justice to make the truth clearly apparent. Peace be upon you, O Abu Abdullah... and upon the souls that befell you in your annihilation... May God’s peace be upon you from me forever as long as I remain and as long as night and day remain.
Al-Asadi added - The University of Basra continues to commemorate this painful memory for the hearts of the believers, year after year, in the month of lessons and lessons, to draw inspiration from the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and that raising the flag today in the sky of our educational institution is a beacon for the imitation of its students, members, and bodies. Teaching with the thought of the Master of the Martyrs is a beacon that enlightens all of humanity to the path of truth and righteousness. It is a great honor for us to have the banner of Imam Hussein raised in its expanses to embody the spirit of martyrdom, redemption and sacrifice for the sake of lofty principles, and today’s presence completes the journey of the Master of the Martyrs Hussein, peace be upon him, for what It has great symbolic meanings that reflect adherence to the values and principles of the eternal Husseini revolution.
For his part, the Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Hussein, Hajj Fadel Oz, expressed his thanks for the University of Basra receiving the delegation from the Holy Shrine of Hussein every year in order to raise the banner of Husseini grief in the presence of a faithful constellation of professors, students and employees, and let this banner continue to illuminate the path of justice, truth and humanity as an extension of the eternal message of Muhammad.
He continued by saying - We live these days and remember the martyrdom of Al-Hussein and his companions, peace be upon them, and the oppression of the people of the Prophet’s household after they were removed from their positions that God Almighty had appointed for them, and they were killed and tortured as a result of their call to truth and justice, rejecting evil, seeking reform in the nation, and upholding the word that “there is no god but God and Muhammad.” Messenger of God,” and the Imams of the People of the House, peace be upon them, have advised us to commemorate this memory by narrating the misfortunes that happened to Hussein and his companions, so that this memory remains a beacon that illuminates the path of humanity towards liberation from injustice and slavery.
