President of the University of Basra, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, directed active participation in serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein's (peace be upon him) Arbaeen during his meeting with the supervisors of the university's service procession. The President emphasized the mobilization of the university's service and human capabilities to provide logistical and technical services. A procession has been set up at the Shalamcheh border crossing and at the gate of the Karma Ali College Complex to offer services to the masses of pilgrims heading to Karbala to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). The university aims to provide everything the pilgrims need during their journey, especially considering the difficult weather conditions due to high temperatures and the arduous journey.
Moreover, the President stressed the enhancement of mechanisms for transporting pilgrims to reflect the spirit of solidarity and integration between the university and the community, as demanded by the message and eternal humanitarian goals of Ashura. Dr. Kazem noted that the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Basra Health Directorate, has set up a medical station at the Shalamcheh border crossing to provide medical services to incoming pilgrims.
