With Over 20 Buses, University of Basra Organizes Pilgrimage to the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (PBUH)

The convoy of the University of Basra for the Arba'een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (PBUH) has departed from the city of Basra to the holy city of Karbala.

Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, the President of the University, mentioned that the university allocated more than 20 buses to transport university staff, including faculty members, employees, and students who wished to visit Imam Hussein (PBUH) free of charge.

The university president added that all necessary provisions were made for the convoy, which will participate in the university's designated day during the procession of academic institutions.

He also noted that a medical effort accompanied the convoy, with medical colleges providing free check-ups and immediate treatments to pilgrims, and referring emergency cases to the hospital.

It is worth mentioning that the University of Basra annually participates in the unified mourning procession of Iraqi university students, held in the shrines of Imams Hussein and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them). The procession is attended by the university president, his deputies for administrative and academic affairs, and college deans, who march alongside other university student convoys, chanting slogans of grief and sorrow for the tragedy of Karbala.
