Basra – Monday, September 1, 2025

This morning, Al-Zahraa College of Medicine at the University of Basra commenced its second-round examinations for the academic year 2024–2025. The exams were held in an atmosphere of discipline and high-level organization, with broad participation from students across various academic stages. These examinations reflect the college’s commitment to providing additional opportunities for students who were unable to pass certain subjects in the first round, thereby reinforcing academic equity and the principle of equal opportunity.

The exams were conducted under the supervision and guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Jawad Ramadan Fadhel, Dean of Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, and with direct follow-up by Lecturer Dr. Ihsan Mardan Hammoud, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs. All logistical and organizational measures were taken to ensure the smooth and transparent execution of the examination process, in full compliance with health protocols and ministerial regulations.

In this context, Dr. Jawad Ramadan Fadhel emphasized that the college aims, through these exams, to support students and empower them to overcome academic challenges. He noted that the second round is not merely an additional opportunity, but a critical milestone for demonstrating academic competence and building self-confidence—especially in medical disciplines that require a high level of dedication and perseverance.

For his part, Dr. Ihsan Mardan Hammoud explained that the examination committees began their work early in the morning, and students were distributed across exam halls according to a precise mechanism that ensures fairness and smooth flow. Psychological and academic support was also provided to students throughout the examination period.

Several students expressed their gratitude for this opportunity, affirming their determination to achieve distinguished results that reflect their ambitions and aspirations toward graduation and meaningful contribution to society.

It is worth noting that Al-Zahraa College of Medicine continues its efforts to foster a comprehensive educational environment that combines academic excellence with a humanistic vision—aligned with its mission to prepare scientifically and professionally qualified medical personnel capable of addressing health challenges in Iraq.
