Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem , and the supervision of the Dean of Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Jawad Ramadan Al-Kharsan , a blood donation campaign will be held on the gardens of Al-Zahraa College of Medicine on Thursday, April 24, 2025 . This humanitarian initiative is organized by the College’s Student Activities Unit in collaboration with the Department of Student Activities and the Central Blood Bank, Basrah Health Directorate.

This campaign is part of the celebrations of the 61st anniversary of the University of Basrah , representing the university’s commitment to its societal and humanitarian responsibilities. Blood donation is a noble act of solidarity with patients and those in need, directly contributing to saving lives and meeting the hospitals' demand for blood units, especially in emergencies and chronic illnesses requiring regular blood transfusions.
