The Head of the International Classifications Unit at Basrah University -Prof. Hussain Kati’ Abdul-Sada Head of the Microbiology department at Al-Zahra College of Medicine -announced that Basrah University received an “impressive new global achievement with the continuous support of the chancellor of the University of Basrah and the unremitting effort of the members of the International Classifications Unit and the tireless work of the university’s faculties, the University of Basrah won the first place for the Higher Education Award in Asia. The University of Basrah won first place in the Creativity and Arts Award at the level of all Asian universities for the year 2021. It was followed by international universities such as Beijing University of International Culture of China, Zhejiang University of China, Hamad Bin Khalifa University in the State of Qatar and other international universities in Asia.
It should be noted that the University of Basrah is the Iraqi university that receives an award within the Higher Education Awards in Asia. Never before has an Iraqi university ranked first in Asia.
