Within the Basrah University project to rehabilitate and train prisoners in the province of Basra and integrate them into society. The chancellor of Basrah University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, received a delegation from the Ministry of Justice at Al-Zahraa College of Medicine to sign a memorandum of cooperation and coordination for the rehabilitation and training of prisoners, a project submitted by the Head of the Microbiology Branch in Al-Zahraa College of Medicine.

Which was approved and praised by the local governorate and the General Administration of Prison Reform in Iraq. The ministerial delegation also commended the initiative of Basra University, which they considered a precedent that was not implemented by any other university. The delegation was satisfied with the programs that the university will offer in this field, including basic and university education, vocational education, training courses for obtaining professions, behavioral psychological assessment, art and its impact on changing ideas. And other projects that serve this segment and deliver on changing its thinking and integrating it into society.
